"Contemplation"

This project showcases modern architectural designs with floorplans and section views. It represents the innovative and contemporary approach to a pavilion. Originally pitched with constraints of reflecting the noun "contemplation". Constraints included a 40' x 80' plinth, with stairs, ramps, two pools, a canopy, and a monolith. All of these components originally had size constraints aswell, but as we began to move further into the final design, those constraints weren't as heavily regarded, the professor gave us the opportunity to move forward with a design that was gave us more creative freedom.

This design began with initial designs on Rhino, and after 5+ hours of ideating different designs, and structured feedback from peers and the professor, I decided to go with a design that connected two pedestrian walkways that ran straight along the middle of a city's park. The decision of this location was heavily influenced by Bloomington Indiana's Switchyard Park's B-Line trail, which is a 3.1-mile-long paved trail that runs from the south to the north side of Bloomington's city. It was also loosely influenced by the location of Central Park in Manhattan New York, and the visual environment that park showcases. The design of the pavilion's masonry was influenced by architectural styles found San Van city, which is part of a new released game called Skate. by EA Games. The pavilion's Structural design was very influenced by the design of Espina Pavilion, by Emiliano Domínguez and Santiago Martínez. I duplicated the design of the structure and used its side view design as a big influence on my final design.

I then moved the final 3D model into Twin motion 2025, where I began to experiment with the engine for the first time. It took a little while for me to understand the components and structure of the system, however I quickly caught on with the UI and was able to create a scenic environment that showcases, this design at one of its potentially most used times, the morning. It showcases, people taking a seat to sip on their coffee, or perhaps checking their phone, maybe waiting for someone, and then there's multiple people walking the sidewalk for either exercise, walking their kid to school, or on their way to work. Overall, I see this design as a peaceful and breathtaking part of a busy city. I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and I would like to thank you for reading this and taking time out of your day to view my work. I appreciate your support.
